For this project, we found polynomials within photographs. Using the polynomials we found, we traced them onto graphing, transparency paper and labeled the local minimums and maximums as well as the x and y axises. With the points we labeled, we were able to create factored polynomials. With our factored polynomials, we entered them into our calculators to create digital versions of our polynomials. In order to see the polynomials, we had to use a scale factor. With our factored polynomials, we multiplied them out. Then with the multiplied versions of our polynomials, we entered them into our calculators to compare them to the original lines to make sure they matched. Once they matched, we drew our polynomials on a regular piece of graphing paper and created a visual piece out of them.
Overall, this project was very challenging yet rewarding. I had no idea I could do the math I did while doing this project. It was very complicated and I really had to persevere to complete my math. Once I finished the math portion of the project, I was so relieved and felt proud of myself for being able to complete the calculations. It was really fun creating the art piece out of our polynomials. When I first started, I wasn't sure what I should do, however, it just came together and I was really pleased the finished product.
